Aims:

Blended learning combines online and face-to-face lessons to make learning and teaching more flexible. This course explains the key concepts of blended learning, helps you assess how it can benefit you and your learners, and helps you decide how much of your course should be online. It then investigates Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and other delivery methods, how to create or edit courses, how assessment works in a blended context, and how the blended approach changes the way teachers and learners interact. With these considerations in mind, you’ll be fully prepared to deliver an effective and successful blended course.

By taking this course, you’ll learn:

  • The theory behind blended learning, its advantages and disadvantages.
  • How to use the technologies that enable a blended approach.
  • How to design and create your own materials for blended courses.
  • How to manage learner interaction, self-study and group learning activities in a blended context.
