Do your learners moan and groan every time they hear the word “writing”?
What if to try Dictogloss?
Students take notes from a text they hear, and then, in pairs/ small groups, combine their information and attempt to reconstruct the original text. They may hear the text again during this process. Later, you will display the original text for comparison, and together discuss any problems they had while writing.
Do they sharpen only their writing skills? Of course, not. It is also an effective practice of listening skills as well as reading and speaking.
What can work well with teenagers is songs. Just imagine, singing along to the song as a sign of a fruitful work.
